I know that the fn:node() function does not select attributes but I cannot find any definitive reference to that.

http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath/#NT-AxisSpecifier

I read:

child::node() selects all the children of the context node, whatever their node type


But no reference to excluding attribute nodes.

Any suggestions ?
