This specification provides the definition of the Travel, tourism and leisure data update response - interactive message (TUPRSP) to be used in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between trading partners involved in administration, commerce and transport.
An interactive Travel, tourism and leisure data update response is sent by a global distribution system (GDS) to respond to a TUPREQ that was sent by a supplier to update rates, availability, or general or policy information. It may also be sent by a supplier to respond to a TUPREQ message sent by a GDS to update a traveller’s profile.
The Travel, tourism and leisure data update response - interactive message may be used for both national and international applications. It is based on universal practice related to administration, commerce and transport, and is not dependent on the type of business or industry.
TUPRSP incorporates the functionality to respond to a data base request in the following ways:
(1) Acknowledge that the update(s) was processed successfully.
(2) Acknowledge that some of the update(s) were processed successfully and list those that were not processed by an item or identification number that was assigned by the supplier to each update.
(3) Acknowledge that some of the update(s) were processed successfully and return all the update information for those that were not processed.
(4) Respond that no updates were processed and the error code as to the reason no updates were processed.

This section should be read in conjunction with the segment table which indicates mandatory, conditional and repeating requirements.
A service segment starting and uniquely identifying a message. The message type code for the Travel, tourism and leisure data update response - interactive message is TUPRSP.
Note: Travel, tourism and leisure data update response - interactive messages conforming to this document must contain the following data in segment UIH, composite S306:
A segment identifying the industry type (e.g. air, car, train, accommodations, etc.) and what type of data update is to be done (e.g. availability, rates, etc.).
PMT-NUN-IFT-SG12-SG13 A group of segments to specify a rate code and all the information associated with the rate.

To specify the rate code.
0440 DTI, Date and time information
To specify the begin and/or end date(s) and times for which the information for the rate code is effective.
0450 ODS, Additional product details
To indicate if taxes and service charges are included in the rate, and if not the percent of each.
0460 SSR, Special requirement details
To specify the meal plan associated with the rate.
0470 RUL, Rule information
The rules, e.g. minimum and maximum length stay, the cancellation policy, associated with the rate.
0480 TFF, Tariff information
To specify associated charges, e.g. extra person, extra night, and meal plan charges, associated with the rate.
0490 ITM, Item number
The rule identification number associated with the rate.
0500 CMN, Commission information
To specify if commission is automatically paid or if it must be requested and the percentage paid.
0510 CUR, Currencies
The secondary currency code associated with a rate.
0520 PMT, Payment information
To specify what credit cards can be accepted for this rate.
0530 NUN, Number of units
To specify how many days prior to use of the service the reservation must be made.
0540 IFT, Interactive free text
Any rate facts associated to the rate.
SG36-SG37-SG38-SG40 A group of segments to detail information for products, e.g. as a hotel property, in a city.
1530 TVL, Travel product information
To identify the product by name and identifier.
1540 ITM, Item number
To associate an update number with this product.
1550 MAP, Message application product information
To identify the type of update to be made.
1560 NME, Name
To identify who is responsible for the information in this update.
1570 PLI, Product location information
To identify the reference points associated with a product.
1580 NUN, Number of units
To further describe the product, e.g. number of hotel rooms, maximum number of people per room, number of floors.
1590 CON, Contact information
The phone and fax numbers for a product.
1600 CUR, Currencies
The currency code for this product which may be different than the primary currency code of the city.
1610 SSR, Special requirement details
To detail special facilities associated with the product.

To identify additional information, e.g. tax and surcharge information, which is not normally formatted information.
