They are namespace conformant and therefore support all namespaces. They 
might not know natively how to render them all, but since you have 
mechanisms like (s)XBL you can render any arbitrary namespace in 
advanced ways.

Support for formats can be indicated in the normal ways, Accept headers, 
DOM hasFeature(), SMIL system tests.
