On the subject of interoperability between specifications:

If we don't achieve true convergence between competing specificaitons
(such as the current set of reliable messaging specifications), it will
be up to vendors to provide their own proprietary "bridges" between
these specificatoins/standards - or, perhaps we might find that an
organization such as WS-I takes on a role of creating profiles for
interoperability between standards that vendors can then use either as
standalone products ("bridges"), or as "adaptors" to their
implementations of standards.
