I'll pass your concerns about the inherent bias of the naming guidelines to the authors of the guidelines.

I would like to add that the MS guidelines seem to be useful
mostly for commercial applications, but not for anything that
might conceptually fit in the .NET framework itself.

Seems there is corporate philosophy at work.
