All this discussion about Unicode/wchar_t/UTF-16/32 is
very good, but one would expect that the discussion about
an XML writing API might focus on other things as well, like

- which members to include / scope of features 
- escaping / what helps the programmer the most
- configurability / options

There have been fewer posts about all of these than about 
the encoding issue, which is a smaller part of the problem.
