When I was in Germany earlier this year, I noticed www.google.com 
automatically redirected to www.google.de and almost all the results 
were in German. Since I don't speak German this wasn't very useful. I 
tried www.google.us, but that didn't work. I eventually fell back on 
www.google.fr since I can at least read French when pressed.
