The XML Linking Working Group has just published a new working draft
of the xpointer() scheme. People who are interested in a fully-featured
method of pointing into XML documents may wish to check it out. It is
based on XPath, and adds the ability to address strings, points, and
ranges in accordance with definitions provided in DOM 2: Range.
