   Someone recently told me that an acronym has to be a real word. I don't
know if that's technically true, but if it is what do we call something like
URL? Also an abbreviation?

   Anyway, I'm typically only concerned with distinguishing between ID and
Id in the context of an SGML/XML data type as opposed to (let's say) an
attribute name. I don't particularly have any quams with something like
getPublicId().
