I have this in my DTD ...
 
  <!ELEMENT verse (verse-headline?,verse-stanza+,verse-attribution?)>
    <!ATTLIST verse xml:space (default|preserve) "preserve">

... which is fine, except that the colon in the attribute really confuses
emacs.  it tells me:

  Line 186 in "my-dtd" Name expected; at: :space (defa

has anyone dealt with this?

btw, I'm using xemacs-21.0
