As of now, Xalan doesn't have dedicated XPath 3.1 API,B to use Xalan
for XPath 3.1 processing only. The focus has been on XSLT 3.0
implementation development.

But Xalan may implement such an API.

Good to hear, looking forward to have that (somewhere in the future when
time permits).
