ok, so //record[ARTP_IDENT = 'blue'] say...

ok, so //record[ARTP_IDENT = 'blue'][
   NAV_IDENT = 'red'
][
   NAV_CTRY = 'there is only one country'
][
   NAV_TYPE = 'yellow]
]

is linear.


What am i missing?

Note also, you can sometimes use accumulators to avoid two passes. And
your accumulator value can be a map.
