Or you changed
<alt unit="feet">1200</alt>
into
<alt unit="metres">1200</alt>
which might not be seen in a text comparison...
So you have to write tests. Round-tripping can mask errors, and writing
tests with the same software used for transforms can also mask errors.
There is no single complete answer.
