CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Symposium on
The Role of XML in Publishing Accessible Documents
Most scientific, medical, legal, academic, engineering, and technical
literature is published and/or archived using XML as an intermediary format.
In a workflow where publishers create print, PDF, HTML, eBook, braille, tagged
PDF, and WCAG-compliant HTML5 from the same XML source, the XML in the
production process is key to containing costs and assuring successful creation
of accessible publications.
If you have experience with XML, publishing, and accessibility, whether as a
user, creator, sponsor, or someone who has to write software to support it,
webre interested in hearing from you! We want in-depth presentations. We
want technical details. We want to hear about what works, what doesn't work,
and how we can/should go about making documents more accessibile in the
context of XML. (We do not want yet another introduction to what accessability
is and why it matters - assume that we already know that!)
