Terribly sorry about that. I think perhaps my search terms were not
sufficient to find the answer. I hope you'll take me at my word that I
had googled extensively before posting.

and I don't always have the vocabulary to even express my questions
properly.
Don't worry: that's what the list is for. One of its best services is
to help bootstrap new users into the terminology. (This is why
reading for a while is a good idea, for those who can do that.)
