OK so xslt 1 then, you didn't say if x:node-set() is available. Also your suggested output was text with no markup, is that really what you want xslt to produce, or do you need to generate (say) an html file that displays that way. (The structure of the xslt might be quite different for text markup as opposed to generating a tree of nodes) David
