Have you tried removing the namespace and serializing as HTML? It might be
that either (a) the browser doesn't recognize the script element when it's
in a namespace, or (b) the browser doesn't recognize the script element
unless it's serialized the way that method="html" will serialize it.

Yes, but only after David mentioned the inconsistence between method="html"
and the namespace.

(But it might help a little if you told us how it failed...)

All the browser says is "XSLT processing failed!", sorry. I found the offending
line by a variant of a binary search ...
