In XSLT 2.0, you have error() too. Using QNames should permit
implementations and/or extensions to provide a way to handle such
errors. See for examples:

PS: I still have planned to review the implementation and write a
little bit about it (for example about its use in my Unit Testing
framework for XSLT 2.0). When I'll find the needed time...
