You can either remove them or put the whole classpath between quotes. Java thinks that lib\avalon-framework-cvs-20020806.jar is a separate argument and assumes it is the name of a class that should be loaded. That is obviously not correct. :-) Cheers, Geert PS: make sure you properly refer to ttf font and metric files or your PDF will look really funny (wrong symbols or wrong white spacing around characters)
