On what do you want to sort? The names of the elements? The content of the 
elements?

 Sorting the complete xml file






How to sort the complete xml file? I want to sort the complete xml tree, 
level by level. Is this
possible with XSL?

The primary reason that I want to do this is to see if 2 generated xml 
files are identical.
