Hmm I see. The only problem is there could be more tags like
WAAUXCallerID, which shouldn't be counted. So I only can rely on
WAAUXxx... (where xx can be any number)
However again repetitions aren't allowed.
e.g.
WAAUX01
WAAUX01
WAAUXWithholdNumberAllCalls
WAAUX04
WAAUXCallerID
Should output a 2. I am not sure if this problem is solvable at all.
Besides I have to stick with XSLT 1.0.

In 2.0 you can use regular expressions. Here I think you just want
count(*[starts-with(name(),'WAAUX')]) -
count(*[starts-with(name(),'WAAUXCallerID')])
