Actually on rereading it occurs to me that XPath 2.0 doesn't depend on XSLT 2.0, but the latter does depend on the former (which has dependencies of its own). So the status of XPath 2.0 would potentially be the rub.

In any case, unless someone knowledgeable says otherwise, let's assume they're both moving along.
