The only way I can see of doing it is to create a template element as follows: <xsl:template match="not(Alpha-Next | XML | Heading-1..etc...)"> Would you be able to extract not-to-match names to a separate file or structure? Something like so: <nomatch> <Alpha-Next/> <XML/> ... Using this you should be able to shorten match attribute of other templates.
