the difference between
players[position()=2 and position()=2]
and
players[position()=2 ][ position()=2]
and
is that the first one selects the set of players for which position is 2 and
2 so it's the same as players[2] the second one selects all teh players for
which poistion is 2 and then selects _from this list_ the player with
position 2 (which won't exist as there will be at most one player with
position 2 selected by the first filter.
ie it's player[2][2] which is empty. converseley player[2][1] is the same
as player[2] but
player[position()=2 and position()=1] is empty.
