Not much point in delivering the result in 3 nanoseconds if it takes the
user 30 minutes to spot the syntax error that a conformant processor would
have reported.
One of the rewards of XSLT is that you can test a stylesheet in one tool
(with good error-checking), and when everything has been banged on
sufficiently, you can switch to a faster one.
