Rick is right -- the problem is undoubtedly where you say "--- other statements ---". The error you are getting is a parse error; your stylesheet is not well-formed XML. If you look at the other thread going along here you'll see a guy in the next lane with the same problem ... the thread is "Re: convert large array to several smaller arrays containing max N elements".
