Subject: Looking for an approach to filter XML data based on a calculation

I want to do some calculations that will filter my XML data. I thought
that one approach would be to filter the XML data on the server with a
MSXML javascript function and produce a fragment that would then be
transformed to HTML. Any suggestions?
