Why reinvent the wheel? Just bypass the wrapper function and use
window.open() directly:
<a
href="javascript:window.open('{@url}','MyWin','options-go-here')"><xsl:apply
-templates/></a>
You could put this entire line into another template if you re-use it
frequently.
