<xsl:for-each select="row[count(.|key('GId', normalize-space(@vcId))[1])=1]"> should be enough. Beware normalize-space() doesn't remove whitespace actually, it normalizes it instead (removes leading/trailing whitespace and collapses any adjacent whitespace to single one).
