[Just to show there are some good things in XPath 2.0...]
In XPath 2.0, rather than:
count(.|$node) = 1
you can do:
. is $node
Of course, in XPath 2.0 and XSLT 2.0 there's a lot more support for
grouping as well, so there's less of a requirement to do ". is $node"
anyway...
