I have a xml as

<FIELD_MASK>
NEOL                                         </FIELD_MASK>
**
and I want to compare it
**
<xsl:when test = "FIELD_MASK='NEOL'">
**
Obviously this will not work because of the prevailing white spaces. Is
there a way for me to obtain a substring to compare or .trim() this using
xsl.
