Subject: Â / em dash bug?

I've looked in the archives for this one, but no luck...

In my XML datasheet, I have occurences of — for an em dash. When I process the XML with XSLT and serve it up to a browser via JSP, I get an that occurs before each em dash.

To try and fix this I changed — to &emdash; and defined an entity reference in my DTD for <!ENTITY emdash "—">.

The problem remains. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm missing here?

Thanks in advance!
Mattio
