Subject: Vendor-specific data-types

Michael Kay's XSLT Programmer's Reference mentions on page 123 that vendors
are allowed to add custom data types to XSLT/XPath.  Can anyone point me to
the place in the XSLT/XPath specs where this is mentioned?
