The difference will be how in your processor handles parameters.  With
XalanJ1, for instance, there is no way to set the parameters once the
stylesheet has been compiled, so changing a parameter requires recompiling
the stylesheet.  If you pass the parameter in the XML file, you won't have
to recompile the stylesheet, no matter which processor you use.
