name() never performs well in a namespace aware environment. It reveals
the namespace prefix used in the source. To make it namespace aware you
need
 <xsl:copy-of select="attribute::*[not(local-name()='DoNotCopyAttribute'
and namespace-name()='xxxx')]" />

the generate-id version is more naturally namespace aware.
