You can't use < in an attribute. Since you are using IE5 msxml, you will
have to make do with this:

<input type="text" size="18"> 
	<xsl:attribute name="value">
		<xsl:value-of select="FIRST_NAME"/>
	</xsl:attribute>
</input>
