Subject: Entity references in xml output

hello
I would like to transform an XML file to another with XSLT. I have entity
references in the source and want to keep them in the target. e.g. Now
é becomes ²é² which isn¹t good for me.
I have xsl:output element with method="xml".
Can you help me?
BTW: How can I generate internal subset?
