well it might have helped if you'd said what didn't work
but if you have a current xsl processor your sheet will not work at all
as the namespace is wrong

<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/XSL/Transform/1.0">
should be
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
