Your comments have given me hope.  However, I do not know enough to
proceed.

Do I need to have Java installed?  How do I register the Java classes that
form the interface to XT as a COM object?

I have downloaded XT but I do not know how to proceed.  All I need is to be
pointed in the right direction.
