Hi jon,
Thanx for your repy....no I am using LotusXSL to process xsl files.
Anyway, the creator of that xsl processor told me that it is possible
What I am interested in is the syntax to tell to the xsl processor that that
variable make reference to a servlet's variable
How can I do that?

I believe SAXON is the only XSL implementation that currently support this.
Read in the spec about top level variables.
Is your servlet system using SAXON?
