I write and I hope someone may help me.

I have the following xml and xsl files:

<!DOCTYPE document [
<!ELEMENT document (para)+>
<!ELEMENT para (#PCDATA)>
<!ATTLIST para id ID #REQUIRED>
]>
<document>
 <para id="d1">First sentence</para>
 <para id="d2">Second sentence</para>
</document>

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/XSL/Transform/1.0">

<xsl:template match="/">
 <A>
  <xsl:value-of select="id('d1')"/>
 </A>
</xsl:template>

</xsl:stylesheet>

I expect the following output:

<A>First sentence</A>

but I obtain <A/>.

Where is the problem ?
