I tried to convert an XML document to HTML using
James Clark's XT (Version 19990514). This works
ok, the stylesheet being :

xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REChtml40"

<HEAD>
...
The German 'Umlaute' (ä,ö,ü,ß) however are ruined.
Playing around with IE5's Encoding specification
did not help.
Using JC's NXMLOutputHandler did not help either.
Is it possible to preserve these 'Umlaut's?
If yes, how ?
