For you information here is where you'll find RTF specs and even info on mac
and Unix implementations :-)

http://night.primate.wisc.edu/software/RTF/  <--- this site is not owned by
Microsoft nor is the RTF format, only the document (like documents created
by OMG or W3, they are copyrighted). They created it but you can implement
your own renderer without any legal problems. In fact most desktop
publishing and word processor support rtf.
