Thanks for sharing this. I have incorporated the GitHub JSON tests referenced in this article into the QT3 (XQuery/XPath) test suite at https://github.com/w3c/qt3tests

Saxon was failing three of the "invalid" tests (by crashing rather than reporting a clean error message): see https://saxonica.plan.io/issues/3866
