A major feature you lose is the ability to check the assertions for inconsistecies - a feature that costs in terms of complexity in XML Schema but benefits hugely its usefulness. If someone edited or added to your assertion list it would be great to be able to somehow check this hasn't caused a contradictiin between (or within) assertions. -- ---- Stephen D Green
