These actually all look the same here, but maybe that's because I'm
looking at the plain text version of your message, with no formatting.

When I was an undergraduate I had the choice at one point of FORTRAN or
Algol. I got an Algol book out of the library and went to the room where
the card punches were. In the book, keywords were in bold. Try as I
might I couldn't see how to enter bold keywords and italic variable
names, and I gave up and went back to FORTRAN.
