first one I tried does, although it gives you a gentle slap on the wrist

$ rxp  -sxV det.xml
Warning: Content model for x is not deterministic.   At start of content 
there are multiple choices when the next element is b.
  (detected at end of prolog of document file:///C:/tmp/det.xml)


That warning is non fatal and it goes on to validate (or invalidate as 
the case may be) the document.
