There is no complexity difference between that and extracting the schema
from a document that wraps all of them in a root element, in your
example that will be:

<wrapper>
   <a>
     <b/>
     <c/>
   </a>
   <a>
     <b/>
     <d/>
   </a>
</wrapper>
