If you're doing an entire file, or you don't have any QNames in your 
content (e.g., <xsl:template name="foo:bar" ...>) then standard XML C14N 
is your  safest bet; there are free implementations, often as part of XML 
Digital Signature implementations.  If you're doing XML fragments, you 
want exclusive canonicalization; often part of the same package.
