Activity on each changes in waves, note that the coverage is different
too - the first is the Semantic Web Interest Group, the second (errm)
rdf-webdev, which also happens to be the 'official' FOAF list - tends
to be more hackerish than academic.

There are also quite a few more specialised mailing lists, some of
which are hosted by the W3C (http://www.w3.org/Mail/Lists.html) -
Google a bit and you'll find others.

There are other modes too - get yourself an IRC client and hook up to
#foaf, #swig, or even #sws (Semantic Web Services) on
irc.freenode.net. The latter two have Chumpalogica
weblogs/scratchpads:

http://www.w3.org/2002/ws/swsig/scratchpad/
http://rdfig.xmlhack.com/

Not forgetting the Planet RDF aggregated weblog (for which I supply cat photos):

http://planetrdf.com/

Cheers,
Danny.
